Class Styles
Vinyasa
Vinyasa is a Sanskrit word meaning "to place in a certain way." On the mat, it refers to the synchronistic connection of breath with movement. Classes are dynamic in nature, using Sun Salutations to move into various poses. No prior experience is necessary, but a general level of fitness is recommended. Beginners are welcome!
Deep Stretch [Yin Yoga]
In our Deep Stretch class (often referred to as 'Yin Yoga'), postures are held for 3-5 minutes to release the deep muscular tissue and fascia of the body. Most of the postures are done lying down and/or using props for support. An excellent complement to a more physical practice. Suitable for all levels of ability.
Yoga for Seniors and 50+
Designed for seniors and people over 50, we develop functional strength, joint mobility, improved posture, balance, and peace of mind.
Goodnight Hatha
The perfect way to end your day. Goodnight Hatha restores the body/mind with longer held stretches and a focus on the breath. Relax, renew, unwind, and prepare for a good night's sleep!
Core Strength
The Core Strength class works the power house muscles. These are the muscles that circle your body just under the belt line, including the abdominals, lower back, hips, and buttocks. Exercises are designed to bring strength, improve posture, and increase flexibility and balance.
Vinyasa Intermediate
This class emphasizes full-body strength and flexibility. It is a muscle-shaping, mind-sculpting workout that appeals to anyone with the desire for true and permanent change in his or her body and life. Modifications are offered to suit varying levels of ability. Although previous yoga experience is recommended, people in good physical condition (relatively fit) and without current injuries are welcome!
Yoga for Hips
This is a "flow" style of class that moves slowly and with ease. Standing postures are practiced with longer holds, focusing on releasing the muscles surrounding the hips and the low back. The class ends on the floor with deeper hip-opening stretches and a long Savasana (final relaxation).
Hatha
This class uses standing postures, forward folds, backbends, and hip-opening postures to offer a full-body experience of length and strength. Suitable for all levels of ability, from the absolute beginner to more advanced students.
Gentle Stretch
If you’re looking for relaxation and a deep stretch, or if this is your first time practicing Yoga, this class is for you. Accessible to seniors, absolute beginners, or students looking to return to the basics.
Therapeutic Yoga (Gentle)
This class is designed for those who want to gain strength but who also want a relaxing yoga class to unwind, renew, and heal. Students focus on breath awareness and restorative stretching. Most classes end with a guided meditation and relaxation. Beginners welcome; all poses will be taught with modifications for your body.
