About me
My personal approach to yoga reflects my belief that the greatest benefits come by doing the poses with precision and alignment. I practiced yoga for 3 years and experienced a small increase in flexibility and little to no relief from the back pain that I had come to accept as a “way of life” for me. In fact, doing sun salutation after sun salutation with poor form brought increased pain and muscular tension. How frustrating!!!
I went from one specialist to another in search of the cure for my chronic back pain. That’s when I discovered Iyengar Yoga. After just one class in this tradition, I learned more about how to do the pose properly than in 3 years of regular practice. I realized then that the anatomy of the body as it applies to asana (the yoga poses) was to be my passion and my speciality.
I began my work with orthopaedic surgeon Dr. Ray Long about 3 years ago. The best advice he has given me as a teacher was that we “don’t diagnose conditions, we diagnose yoga postures.” The yoga poses themselves have a profound therapeutic and beneficial effect when done correctly. This doesn’t mean one must be flexible enough to put the body in crazy positions. We use props and modifications to position the body in an appropriate way. In so doing, we uncover muscular imbalances, areas of weakness and tension, and regions of flexibility and strength. From here we can determine the source of discomfort and move forward with a clear plan of action.

What to Expect
Just one private session with Eryn will enhance your practice and help to prevent injuries. You’ll receive valuable instructions on how to move in accordance with your own individual needs, with precision and modifications. Adjustments and instructions will be provided that are not readily available in a group setting.
With each session, a formal postural assessment will be made by a specialized yoga instructor. Areas of tightness and muscular weakness will be identified, and a program of action will be designed for you. You will leave even one session knowing how to maximize the benefits of your practice. You will learn alignment principles and modifications that can be applied in a group setting, or in your home practice. Together, we will tailor a personalized practice that will support your own individual goals and needs, whatever they may be.

Single Session: $80
4 sessions: $240 ($70 savings)
Rates are the same for 2-6 people.
